Brazilian Firm To Build 700 Megawatt Plant In Nigeria

FG sets aside N200bn for power sector liabilities

 The Federal Government has set aside N200bn for the payment of outstanding market liabilities and financial obligations in the power sector. US$250m Ressano Garcia power station in Mozambique inagurated

 President Armando Guebuza has inaugurated the Ressano Garcia power station located on the border with South Africa. The Ressano Garcia power station will generate a total of 180 megawatts.   The gas is treated by SASOL, South African petro-chemical giant, before being taken to the plant via a pipeline. KenGen to build industrial park in Naivasha, Kenya.

Naivasha, Kenya: Kenya Electricity Generating Company (Kengen) has set aside 1,300 acres in Olkaria Naivasha for the construction of an industrial park. Five sites in the geothermal rich area have already been identified for the park with Kengen targeting high consumers of electricity. US firm to build 100MW geothermal power plant in Kenya

 Ormat Technologies, a US power firm has been selected among three other companies to build the 100MWgeothermal power plant in Menengai, Kenya, set to begin in December this year.
