Kenya: One Million Kenyans to Be Connected to Power This Year

 Nairobi — The Government has said that one million people will be connected to the national power grid by the end of this financial year in its plan to connect over 70 percent of the population by 2017.     In the last financial year, over 400,000 customers were connected to the power line. Alten to develop 40MW solar plant in Kenya

Alten Kenya Solarfarms is expected to set up a 40MW solar plant in Kesses, Uasin Gishu county Kenya. The solar plant will be located on a 371 acre piece of land in Kesses near Moi University, Eldoret. The project is expected to cost around US$10m for infrastructure development alone.
