Solar power dominates rural Tanzania, says report

Tanzania to benefit from AfDB renewable energy investment

Rwanda: Govt Focusing on Off Grid Solutions to Boost Energy Efficiency

The government is set to prioritise off-grid energy solutions such as solar energy and mini-power plants, reduce energy losses, as well as consider using natural gas instead of diesel in energy generating systems to ensure efficiency.   According to the Minister for Infrastructure, James Musoni, the development is in line with the country's target to generate 563 megawatts and enable 70 per cent of Rwandan households to access electricity.... Kenya: 310MW Lake Turkana Wind Farm Nearing Completion

Two Kenyan Power Firms Receive $1.6 Million Obama Fund Grant to Boost Green Energy

Tanzania: Report States that 33 Percent Tanzanians Have Electricity Access

AFDB discloses a $12bn power plan for Africa

The African Development Bank (AFDB) has unveiled plan to invest $12 billion over the next five years under its new electrification programme. The fund will support its New Deal on energy for Africa which aims to achieve universal access to Africa by 2025. Rwanda launches first peat-fired power plant in Africa
